MAYSA Covid 19 Policy Update

MAYSA COVID 19 POLICY: AS OF AUGUST 16, 2021

ROCK SOCCER FOLLOWS THE MAYSA COVID PLICY REV AUGUST 16TH, 2021
 

The Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) will no longer have Game Day COVID Prevention Protocol, starting with the Fall 2021 season. Instead, both the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA) and WYSA expect that clubs follow CDC guidance and adhere to local public health orders. 

Outdoors Activities

• At this time, players and coaches are not required to wear a face mask during outdoor activities.
• Coaches are highly encouraged to minimize elements where players are in continuous close contact for extended periods of time as much as possible such as team huddles or close proximity on bench areas.
• While face masks are not required, we want to emphasize that we should all respect the decision of families and players who prefer to wear a face covering.
•  A notable game day change from last season is that home team players and parents will no longer share the same sideline, with visiting players and parents on the opposite sideline. Instead, we return to the players for both teams on one sideline, spectators for both teams on the opposite sideline.

Indoor Activities

If, for any reason, there are indoor activities (practices or games):

• Unvaccinated players, coaches and spectators should wear a face covering at all times. 
• It is strongly recommended that vaccinated players, coaches and spectators also wear face coverings indoors.
• Within Dane County all players, coaches, and spectators must wear a face covering at all times. (Per the current order from PHMDC)

Monitoring Symptoms

• MAYSA and WYSA ask that players are monitored for symptoms consistent with COVID-19 ahead of games and practices
• Err on the side of caution when deciding if a player should participate in a team event.

If Coach or Player Tests Positive or Is Exposed to Positive Case

In the event of exposure to COVID and/or infection, please follow CDC guidance.
